Condos Cost Estimator for Sellers

Condo sellers in Manhattan face a different set of closing costs than buyers — most notably, transfer taxes, which are a seller responsibility in a standard resale transaction. Understanding your full cost picture well before closing helps you price your apartment accurately and avoid surprises at the table.

New development exception: NYC and NYS Transfer Taxes are a seller cost in a standard resale. However, in a new development transaction, these taxes shift to the purchaser. If you are selling a sponsor unit or new development property, confirm the arrangement with your attorney.
